Need Not Show Any Actual Damages to Recover Statutories

The consumer also need not show any actual damages in order to recover statutory damages. Baker v. G.C. Services Corp., 677 F.2d 775 (9th Cir. 1992); Harvey v. United Adjusters, supra, 509 F.Supp. 1218 (U.S.D.C. Or. 1981). “One purpose of statutory damages is to create an incentive to obey the law.â€
