The defendant is in the business of collecting bad debts for its clients, and is a debt collector for purposes of the FDCPA. See 15 U.S.C. § 1692a(6). The plaintiff alleges various violations of the FDCPA for which the defendant is liable and the defendant argues that such claims are time-barred. Civil suits brought under the FDCPA must be brought within “one year from the date on which the violation occurs.â€
