*391 Worldwide Asset Purchasing, LLC, as Petitioner, is seeking confirmation of an arbitration award and then a judgment on the award against Chris Karafotias, as Respondent. Although Respondent did not appear on the return date for the Petition, the Court denies the application because Petitioner has failed to make a prima facie showing with admissible evidence that the award is entitled to confirmation.
The Petition is verified by Petitioner's attorney, who says that she knows the contents to be true to her own knowledge except as to matters alleged upon information and belief. The Petition consists of thirteen numbered paragraphs, all of which are stated to be on information and belief. It asserts that “[a] contract was entered into between Petitioner's predecessor in interest and the Respondentâ€
