Fair Debt Collection Practices Act's (FDCPA) 30-day validation period is not a grace period: debt collector is perfectly free to demand payment and pursue collection efforts, including an appropriate lawsuit against the debtor, within the validation period. Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, § 809, 15 U.S.C.A. § 1692g.
