California Fair Debt Collection Practices Act

*3 The California Fair Debt Collection Practices Act is designed to prevent harassment of debtors by collectors and creditors. See Cal. Civ.Code § 1788, et seq. Plaintiffs allege that defendant Auto Finance's conduct in attempting to collect payments on the car violated several provisions of the California FDCPA.
Plaintiffs first contend that the phone calls to their home violated California Civil Code § 1788.11(d), which prohibits debt collectors from “[c]ausing a telephone to ring repeatedly or continuously to annoy the person called,â€
