placing false information on credit reports (including the failure to report that a debt is disputed);
improper collection activity resulting from identity theft;
harassing and abusive collection telephone calls.
As part of the consumer financial services litigation practice, the Law Office of Kris Skaar also defends consumers against debt collection law suits by debt buyers and original creditors seeking to collect credit card accounts, automobile deficiencies and other debts.
Kris Skaar is a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates, a charter member of the Consumer Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, and a founding member of the Cobb Justice Foundation. Kris Skaar has taught continuing legal education to other attorneys on the topic of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
Kris Skaar earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1983 and a law degree in 1986 from the University of Georgia at Athens. Kris Skaar is admitted to all Georgia trial courts, as well as the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Georgia, U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
The Law Office of Kris Skaar, P.C. is based in Marietta, Georgia and accepts clients throughout the State of Georgia. Kris Skaar is a native of Savannah, Georgia. He and his wife of over twenty years have five children and are actively involved in Riverstone - A Wesleyan Fellowship Church.
